Swerim employs a decentralised working method where a significant portion of responsibility and authority is delegated to our four business areas: Metallurgy, Materials Development, Manufacturing Technology, and Pilot and Demo.

Industry-Anchored Research

Swerim runs three research programs that are governed by three programme committees whose task is to ensure that research activities are aligned with the needs of the industrial companies that stand behind the owners of the Swedish Iron and Metal Research Foundation (SSJM) and the Metallurgical Research Company in Luleå (MEFOR). 

In addition to joint research, Swerim provides the opportunity to engage in bilateral research under full confidentiality.
